| School of Economics and Management
The Department of Business Management at SSPU was founded in 1985 and was expanded into the School of Business Administration in 1994. After the academic restructuring in 2002, the school was formally renamed the School of Economics and Management. For these twenty years, the school has won a high recognition from the society by cultivating a large number of competent graduates for the economic and social development of Shanghai.
The school consists of Department of Management, Department of Finance, Department of International Business, and Professional Training Laboratories. The school offers four undergraduate programs (Information Management and Information System, Logistics Management, Credit Management, and Finance Management) and seven diploma programs (Marketing, Commercial Management, Architectural Economy and Management, Finance and Insurance, International Accounting, international business and logistics management). The school has established Managerial Engineering Institute and Applied Economics Research Institute. The school currently has 82 staff members including 66 full-time teachers, and enrolls 1689 students.
In accordance with the university¡¯s 40 years¡¯ tradition, the school persists in the society oriented, industry-university cooperated and work-learning integrated education philosophy. In 2003, the School has established the joint SINOTRANS International Logistics College with China National Foreign Trade Transportation (Group) Corporation. The two parties have jointly formulated the teaching plans and related documents, and are jointly operating the Logistics Management Laboratory. The school has regularly invited the industrial experts from the company to give speeches regarding contemporary practical issues, and also are sending teachers and students to attend practical training and provide consulting service. This joint college has laid a solid foundation for the further cooperation between the university and the industries. |
